Many instructors require their students to spend a minimum amount of time practicing in Auralia and Musition each week, so it is important to know exactly how this time is calculated.

For practice in the browser, time is recorded when students are in an actual topic, but not whilst the retry or feedback form is displayed.

This behavior was adopted so that students don’t get credited for practice time when they are inactive.

Students can of course still enter a topic and do nothing and still get credited for time. Ultimately each instructor will still need to reconcile the time spent against the number of questions completed to decide if the student has approached practicing with a reasonable intent.
