LTI 1.3 with D2L Brightspace
Introduction
These instructions describe how to register Auralia and Musition as an LTI 1.3 tool in the D2L Brightspace LMS (learning management system) and create assignments.
Tool registration
- Navigate to Settings → Site-related → Manage Extensibility and press Register Tool.
- Select Standard registration.
- Use the following settings:
- Tool name: Auralia / Musition
- Domain: https://lti.risingsoftware.com
- Tool description: Auralia and Musition music education
- Redirect URL: https://lti.risingsoftware.com/oauth/redirect
- Keyset URL: https://lti.risingsoftware.com/oauth/jwks
- OpenID Connect Login URL: https://lti.risingsoftware.com/oauth/login
- Extensions: enable all
- Roles: send instituition role
- Click Register.
- Copy and paste the Brightspace Registration details - you will need to supply them to Rising Software support.
- Press View deployments, then New Deployment. Use the following settings:
- Tool: the Auralia and Musition tool you created in the previous step
- Name: Auralia and Musition
- Extensions: enable all
- Security settings: share org unit information, user information (name) and email, link information
- Configuration settings: select grades created by this tool will be included in final grade
- Make tool available to: select appropriate courses / organizational units for your instituition
- Press Create deployment.
- Note the deployment ID shown as you will need to provide this to Rising Software support.
- Press View Links, then New Link. Use the following settings:
- Name: Auralia / Musition
- URL: https://lti.risingsoftware.com/launch
- Type: Deep linking quicklink
- Press Save and Close.
- Send the registration and deployment details in an email to [email protected]in order for your tool deployment to be linked to your Auralia/Musition cloud service.
- Client ID
- Brightspace Keyset URL
- Brightspace OAuth2 Access Token URL
- OpenID Connect Authentication Endpoint
- Issuer
- Deployment ID
Create a practice activity
- In a course content area, press Add Existing Activities...
- Select Auralia / Musition
- From the pop-up dialog, select Auralia or Musition Practice. If you see an error, please ensure you provided the registration and deployment details to Rising Software as above.
- Enter the name for your new link. This name will be saved in Auralia / Musition and cannot be changed later, although you can change the name of the link shown in Brightspace.
Create a task activity
- In a course content area, press Add Existing Activities...
- Select Auralia / Musition
- From the pop-up dialog, select Auralia or Musition Task. If you see an error, please ensure you provided the registration and deployment details to Rising Software as above.
- Enter the name for your new link. This name will be saved in Auralia / Musition and cannot be changed later, although you can change the name of the link shown in Brightspace.
- Click the new link to open Auralia / Musition.
- Within Auralia / Musition, select an existing Auralia or Musition test or course to use or create a new one, then click Attach to associate this with your Brightspace link.
