You can download pdf copies of the manual and install guide below. The server setup utility is also available, and may be a later version than that found on your CD. Note that you will only need this utility if you are installing on a network.

Program Updates

The current version of Musition is 3.5.0.32 (released March 21, 2008).

You can check which version you have by selecting About from the Help menu in Musition. A change in the third digit of the version number (such as 3.0.1.30 to 3.0.2.31) signifies a minor update to correct problems or add minor features.

Professional Single, Academic Single, Lab Pack and Multi User customers

Download the latest update to Musition.

If you are running Musition in a networked (Lab Pack or Multi User License) environment, and have a shared database, you will also need to upgrade the database that exists on your server. Download this database upgrade utility to achieve this.

Student Edition Customers

Download the latest update update to Musition.

When the download has finished, run the downloaded program. It will update your Musition to the new version. (In Internet Explorer, select Run this program from its current location to run the program automatically when it has finished downloading.) Please contact us if you experience any difficulties in the update process.

This update will only work with Musition 3.0. If you are using an earlier version of Musition, you cannot use this update to upgrade to Musition 3.5.

Changes in 3.50

This release has many new features, in addition to numerous bug fixes. Many topics have had their results screens enhanced, providing much more detailed feedback.

The main screen now features a sylabus selection box, automatically disabling topics that aren't relevant for the selected syllabus. Tests and Syllabuses can now be imported and exported - a much requested feature.

Changes in 3.02

Crashes when exiting Musition under Windows Vista have been fixed.
Crashes when using certain chords and starting notes combinations in the Jazz Chord Symbols, Chords and Jazz Chord topics have been fixed. (1003, 1010)
Selecting specific starting notes in Jazz Chord Symbols may not have worked. This has been resolved (1004)
The Enharmonic Notes topic would sometimes show an empty staff on the results screen (1006)
Problems when connecting to a networked database of a later version that the program supports have now been resolved (1020)
The MIDI Latency setting would sometimes not display correctly when re-entering the 'Administration -> Sound and Pictures' screen. (1002)
Various issues in the Syllabus administration screen have been resolved (1009, 1005, 1001, 1000)
It is now not possible to add empty levels to a test. Any tests with empty levels cannot be started until the levels are populated. (1014)
The 'Network -> Administration' screen now cannot be accessed if the network database is unavailable and the user has elected to use the local database (1021)
Other minor fixes regarding settings, notation and reports (997, 990, 994)
Musition would sometimes 'slow down' after using the singing topics. This problem has been resolved (1008)
