Content 10020 Changes


This page details all the fixes and improvements that were delivered as part of content update 10020, which was released on 13th July, 2016.

Cloud – Full and Multi Seat

This content update includes some fantastic new Auralia & Musition topics, media content and questions.  There are new introductory ear training drills covering tonality, articulation, dynamics, texture and tempo, as well as more advanced theory questions dealing with mechanical voicings.

For our Victorian (Australia) based teachers, we can now include some content from previous VCE music performance exams!  This update include the 2015 exam… more to come soon!

Content – Auralia

  • VCE 2015 Exam – including 37 questions using audio recordings
  • Questions for Meter Recognition – new questions appropriate for younger students asking them to identify the played extract as duple, triple, simple or compound

Topic – Musition Composers

A new topic with 3 levels and 121 general knowledge questions on the lifespan, birth country and period of various composers from Bach to Weber

Topic – Musition Mechanical Voicings

A new topic with 1 level and 200+ questions that require the student to enter the specified mechanical voicing below the given lead note and chord symbol

Includes 7, m7, m7b5, Maj7, & 6 chords with the root, 3rd, 5th or 7th in the lead.  Root notes of C, F & G.<br>Voicing types include 4 way close, 4 way close double lead, drop 2, and drop 2 double lead

This is just the beginning for this topic with lots of great new content still to come, dealing with more voicing techniques, different chord types, analysing lead lines, approach techniques, harmonising lead lines and more…

Topic – Auralia Tonality

A new topic including 1 level and 40 questions asking the student to aurally identify whether the played extract is in a major or minor key.  There are more levels & tonalities coming soon!

Topic – Auralia Dynamics

A new topic including 3 levels and 170 questions asking the student to aurally identify dynamics and changes in dynamics.  Level 1 includes questions which use ‘plain English’ terminology, whilst levels 2 and 3 make use of Italian terminology.

Topic – Auralia Tempo

A new topic including 2 levels and 46 questions asking the student to aurally identify changes in tempo.  Level 1 includes questions which use ‘plain English’ terminology, whilst level 2 makes use of Italian terminology.

A new topic including 3 levels and 80 questions asking the student to aurally identify the texture, or the changes in texture/density.
