Step 3 - Configuring QuickTime for OMS

The final stage of setting up Auralia to work with your synthesiser is to tell Auralia to use your OMS-configured synthesiser.

  • Open Auralia's MIDI seutp window. (Administration -> General -> MIDI)
  • Under MIDI Output, select 'OMS'
  • Choose your newly created General MID synthesizer in the OMS popup menu
  • Click on OK

Troubleshooting

Problem: I can’t hear any sound from Auralia when I open a drill.
Solution: Refer to the section “Testing your OMS Setup” to check that OMS is correctly setup for your system.

Problem: I still hear the built-in instruments even when I’ve selected my synthesiser from the list in the QuickTime Settings control panel.

Solution: Select Edit List... in the control panel and make sure that your synthesiser is set to General MIDI in the Synthesiser column.
